Fire Damage
Bucklebury

Client - Residential homeowner

Description - Fire damage refurbishment

Contract Value - £450,000

Project Duration - 14 months

The property was a large detached residential house located in a rural setting and the subject of significant fire damage. The fire resulted in damage to the roof structure and extensive damage to the side extensions requiring complete reconstruction. Smoke and heat damage extended throughout the building.

We were appointed by the building owners to project manage the repairs to the building and to liaise with the appointed loss adjusters. Emergency scaffolding was arranged to support the worst affected structural elements and a structurally designed scaffold and sheeted canopy was installed over the entire building to protect it from inclement weather. Difficulties arose with the limited access available for deliveries of plant and materials due to the remote location of the property.

Architectural plans and elevations were prepared for the purposes of submitting for planning approval. The owners incorporated additional private works into the contract.

A full schedule of works and specification was produced and issued for competitive tender to contractors experienced in this work. We project managed the works through to completion. Both the client and loss adjusters expressed their thanks for the high quality of the completed works and the services provided by us.
